Technology has revolutionized education sector. It has allowed education industry to constantly
improve and adapt to sudden changes. During pandemic times, virtual learning had become a
norm, which enabled the students to learn online and which enables them today to combine inperson and virtual lessons. This has streamlined the learning possibilities in the today’s speedily
advancing technological era.
The educators’ improve academic success of the students when they provide them access to
various learning resources, like e-resources.
To facilitate the present day need of technology oriented learning, Rayat College of Law has
established an IT Infrastructure Development Committee. The objectives behind establishing the
committee are:
1. To ensure effective functioning of Computer Lab.
2. To look after ICT infrastructure related needs of the college.
3. To ensure effective internet connectivity in the college premises.
4. Making arrangements for training related to ICT.

ACHIEVEMENTS
1. ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON USE OF MICROSOFT OFFICE TOOLS
On July 17, 2021, a One Day Workshop on Use of Microsoft Office Tools was organized for the
Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff by the I.T. Infrastructure Committee in co-ordination with the
Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Rayat College of Law.
The Workshop was organized with the motive to update the teachers with various techniques of
using Microsoft Office tools, that have become a part of our lives and profession in the existing
pandemic situation.
Dr. Hardeep Kaur, Associate Professor, University Institute of Legal Studies, Chandigarh
University, Gharuan, was the Key Speaker for the Workshop. Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal,
Rayat College of Law, Welcomed the Guest and the participants. In her address, Dr. Hardeep
Kaur highlighted the importance of the use of technology in teaching profession and mainly
focused on the preparation of Excel sheets and Google Forms. She also made the participants
aware about various tools within the Excel sheet that could be useful in managing all the data
and in performing various operations that could be useful in preparing if various records of the
students and of other administrative tasks.
The address of the Guest was followed by the Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Akashdeep Singh,
Associate Professor, Rayat College of Law. In the end, Dr. Manish Kumar, Dean Academic
Affairs & Co-ordinator IQAC, Congratulated Mr. Sukhwinder Singh, Convernor, I.T.
Infrastructure Committee and his team for organizing the workshop.
2. TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON CYBER SECURITY
“Cyber security is a shared responsibility, and it boils down to this: In cyber security, the
moresystems we secure, the more secure we are.” In the words of Jeh Johnson, the issue of
security incyberspace is of utmost importance because it is a problem that faces and challenges
us everysingle day of our lives whether we realise it or not.
To commemorate National Cyber Security Awareness Month, the IT Infrastructure
DevelopmentCommittee in collaboration with IQAC at Rayat College of Law organised a twoday workshop on Cyber Security on 13th and 14th October, 2021. Before the commencement of
the workshop, Dr. Monika Sharma, Principal, Rayat College of Law expressed her gratitude to
the speakers andemphasized the importance of workshops such as this in creating a safe, secure
and responsiblecyber environment. The first session of the workshop was conducted by Mr.
Vikas Bhatia,Inspector, State Cyber Crime Cell, Punjab on “Cyber Crimes- Victimization and
Investigationwith special reference to Financial Frauds”. In his speech, the Chief Guest focussed
on thepractical aspect of Cyber Crime and highlighted the laws in force to protect citizens
incyberspace. Members of the audience were not only introduced to new concepts on
CyberSecurity but also learnt about the various challenges faced by personnel in the Cyber
Crime department. On the second day, Dr. Niteesh Kumar Upadhyay, Associate Professor in
Law, Galgotias University addressed to students on “Contemporary Challenges to Cyber Laws in
theDigitalised World”. In his speech Dr. Upadhyay delved into an array of topics ranging from
AIand cyber crime, bullying in cyberspace, cyber stalking, defamation to financial frauds and
usedcase laws to help in giving the audience a clearer picture of the existing situation.
Consideringthe times we live in, it is imperative to be alert, aware and extremely conscientious
whilepartaking in activities on social media, internet and technology in general. Both
speakersadvocated for a responsible approach towards cyber security and provided students with
workable solutions in order to be able to effectively protect themselves against cyber crimes.
The sessions, organised under the guidance of Faculty Convenor, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh with
student organisers Stuti Puri and Hiya Sharma, were extremely informative and encouraged
students to be more responsible and aware of their actions. All the participants walked away
from the workshop having learnt a great deal about a topic of extreme relevance in the present
scenario.
FUTURE PLANS
1. To organise more training sessions for Faculty and Students.
2. To organise Workshop on Cyber Frauds in the month of January.
