LEGAL AID CLINIC
RAYAT COLLEGE OF LAW, RAILMAJRA
Affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh
The College has establish Legal Aid Clinic in the year 2012 inaugurated by Mr. G. S. Saran
District & Session Judge-Cum-Chairman District Legal Services Authority S.B.S. Nagar. The
objective of this Legal aid Clinic is to provide free and competent legal service to the weaker
sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any
citizens by reason of economic or other disabilities and to give students a practical exposure
of legal profession as a paralegal volunteers with the District Legal Service Authority S.B.S.

LEGAL AID ACTIVITIES
1-Legal Aid Camp in Model Jail Chandigarh, 08-02-2017
Students of Rayat College of Law have organised a Legal Aid Camp in Model Jail
Chandigarh in which they interacted with jail authorities and convicts. Students have learnt
about different categories of convicted person and rules of the jail regarding the human rights
of the convicted persons.
2-Legal Aid Awareness Camp 15 October, 2017
Rayat College of Law organised a 5 days Legal Aid Awareness Camp in association with District Legal Services Authority S.B.S. Nagar on 10 to 15 October, 2017 Total 20 students participated.
3-Legal Aid Camp held on 19 February, 2018
Rayat college of Law organised a Legal Aid Awareness Camp in association with District
Legal Services Authority, S.B.S. Nagar. Total 7 students were participated.
4-Legal Aid Camp held on 26-02-2018
Punjab State Legal Services Authority and District Legal Services Authority S.B.S. Nagar
Organised “CHETNA” Legal Service Camp on 26-02-2018 in the esteemed presence of
Honb’le Mr. Justice T.P.S. Mann, Punjab and Haryana High Court cum Executive Chairman,
Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Honb’le Mr. Justice Raj Shekhar Atri, Punjab and
Haryana High Court.
5-Special Lecture on Alternate Dispute Resolution
A Special Lecture on Alternate Dispute Resolution was organised in Rayat College of Law
on 09-10-2018 by Legal aid Clinic of Rayat College of Law.
6-Legal Aid and Community Services 10-03-2020Students of Rayat College of Law under Legal Aid and Community Service initiative
celebrated The “Festival of Colours- Holi” at Apna Ghar Old Age Home, Village Haveli,
Rupnagar on 09-03-2020.

celebrated organized Legal awareness Campaign for “Road Safety” through rally on
Chandigarh Jallandhar Highway on 14-03-2020.
8-Webinar on Legal Aid Concept: 13-09-2020
Legal Aid Committee of Rayat College of Law has organised a Webinar on Legal Aid
Concept on 12-09-2020. The object of this lecture was to make aware students regarding
various schemes of Punjab State Services Authorities for the weaker sections.
9-Legal Aid and Community Services on 07-09-2021
The Legal Aid Clinic of Rayat College of Law organised a visit to Aruna Asaf Ali Memorial
Trust, Sector 44-A Chandigarh to organise a legal aid camp on 7-09-2021.

11-Jail Visit 0n 14-10-2021
