Research is a pursuit integral to progress in any society. Its creative potential is immense and has
been instrumental in bringing about constructive change in societies in innumerable ways.
Research, as an organized and systematic exercise, has been contributing to bring humanity
closer to relevant knowledge that meaningfully benefits the society. Rayat College of law, as a
premier institute of higher learning, is committed to cultivating a meaningful research
environment and expanding its benefit to the larger society. The college has institutionalized a
Research Committee to specifically focus on various areas of research.
BASIC OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH COMMITTEE
Research Committee of Rayat College of law is committed towards enhancing the research
profile of the institution. For this purpose, the committee constantly endeavors to encourage,
enable and promote research environment in college through its various programs, workshops
and seminars for faculty members as well as students.
A major objective of the research committee in colleges is to promote research in order to help
the teachers in upgrading the pedagogies, teaching content and upgrading the course contents
i.e., to facilitate research in a manner where it supplements and consolidates the teachinglearning process. Various research activities are geared towards motivating teachers to identify
and engage with emerging fields of enquiries in different disciplines so that students can be
equipped to choose their future areas of study and research for pursuing higher education.
The research committee also helps the teachers in strengthening their own research skills and
working towards discovery of new ideas and concepts, for this purpose the committee organizes
methodology workshops, training sessions and talks and seminars.
Promotion of newer ideas and research helps the development of college as a more inclusive,
participatory and democratic space. It also helps in development of research aptitude of students.
Further, it motivates students to develop an attitude of openness for accepting newer ideas.

RESEARCH EVENTS
Research in Progress Workshops for Faculty Members, Book Discussion and Discussions on
Publications and Projects undertaken by Faculty Members, Research Methods Workshop Series,
Student Seminars are some of the regular activities carried out by the committee. The effort is to
bring together different departments to discuss, deliberate, exchange ideas and explore
possibilities of relevant research areas in order to provide maximum exposure to students to the
opportunities and promises that higher education holds for them.

Independence and 75th anniversary of Independence Day.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and
commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and
achievements.
An independence week was organized from 13 th August to 17th August 2022. The event was
organized under the guidance of Dr. Monika Sharma(Principal), Dr. Manish Kumar(Dean,
Academics) and Research Committee, The convenor for the event was Ms Mumtaz Zabeen
Khan and co-convenor was Ms Disha Khullar and member, Ms Bharti.
The student coordinators for the event were Jasman Bains (B.A.LL.B 5thSem.), Rajdeep Kaur
(B.A.LL.B Sem.5) and Vrind Bhardwaj (B.A.LL.B 5th Sem.5).
EVENT- TREE PLANTATION UNDER AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV

In the plantation program organized under the Har Ghar Tricolor campaign in the RAYAT Law
College, the teachers took an oath to protect them by planting saplings.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
DATE: 15th August 2022
Also, the students participated in an event which was especially dedicated to hoisting Taranga.
This event was specifically dedicated to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign put forward by the
government of India. Various faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the
event.

On the occasion of 76th Independence Day, the students who were victorious in the competition
organized under the 'Har Ghar Tricolor' campaign were honored. In order to make students aware
of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Rayat College of Law has organized a poster-making
competition where students were invited to show their creativity highlighting the campaign. The
students participated enthusiastically in the competition and competed really well with each
other. Their attempt to raise awareness regarding the “Har Ghar tiranga” campaign was
outstanding. A lot of hard work and creativity were shown from their side.
